BOATING AND YACHTING ADVANTAGES OF 1000 MARINER and KEY BISCAYNE

The canal at the rear of the house is alive with sea life

1000 Mariner is located on a 100-foot-wide 16-foot-deep canal which already has several large yachts (see below) and can accommodate up to an 87 foot long one.

The Cove that is 3 minutes from the dock is both wild and natural plus a favorite spot

Nixon Sandbar (named after the former President whose “winter White House” was on Key Biscayne) is 7 minutes away. It is a popular meeting place for residents of all ages.

There are interesting nearby places to go to by boat. Just off Key Biscayne is Stiltsville, a colony of houses built on sandbars frequented by fisherman and windsurfers.

Another unique boating destination is Foley Lighthouse build 3 miles off shore off Key Biscayne in 1878 marking the beginning of the shoal that emerges as the Florida Keys and is surrounded by turquoise “Caribbean” water. It is a popular diving and fishing spot.

It is a 30-minute ride to have lunch at any of the restaurants on the Miami River.

And it being Miami there is always something unexpected to learn or see along the way.
